Bill Mont paid his taxes and I must pursue other channels to acquire possession of that part of the island. I am still in negotiations with Mr. Mont to do just that. The last remaining house on the island deteriorates with every passing year. By acting now, it can be saved from the elements and vandalism.

I flew from Toronto to Halifax and participated in a tax auction for the southern one-third of Devil's Island. The winning bid of $31,000 was mine.
